Data Processing Agreement

Version 1.1.1 · Between the District and Remergify, a Wyoming corporation, operating as Wipeboard Education

Section 1 — What data we collect

  • Teacher account information (name, email, school).
  • Student display names (first name + last initial only).
  • Student login codes (non-identifiable random codes).
  • Task completion records and timestamps.
  • Classroom audit logs.
  • We do NOT collect: student email addresses, full legal names, student ID numbers, grades, test scores, or behavioral data.

Section 2 — How we use student data

  • Solely to provide the Wipeboard Education classroom collaboration service.
  • We do not use student data for advertising.
  • We do not sell student data.
  • We do not build behavioral profiles of students.
  • We do not share student data with third parties except as required to operate the service (infrastructure providers only).

Section 3 — AI and student data

  • Student names, completion data, and identifiable information are NEVER sent to any AI provider.
  • AI features for teachers use only generic educational context (subject, grade level, learning objectives) — no student PII.
  • AI features are disabled for classrooms with students under 13.

Section 4 — Data retention and deletion

  • Each student record is given a deletion date at the end of the academic year in which it was created.
  • A nightly job deletes student records past their deletion date and records each deletion in the audit log.
  • Teachers can delete any student's records at any time from the data settings page.
  • Schools can request deletion of all school data at any time.
  • We respond to deletion requests within 5 business days.

Section 5 — FERPA School Official Exception

  • By accepting this agreement, your school designates Remergify (operating as Wipeboard Education) as a 'school official' under FERPA.
  • Wipeboard Education: (a) performs functions the school would otherwise carry out, (b) operates under direct control of the school, and (c) restricts use of student records to the educational purpose only.

Section 6 — COPPA compliance

  • For students under 13, this agreement operates under the school authority consent mechanism.
  • Teachers must confirm school authorization and parental notification before enrolling students under 13.

Section 7 — Security

  • All traffic to the service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
  • Access is role-based — teachers see their school, students see their class.
  • We keep an audit log of key actions (check-offs, verifications, deletions).
