School Official Exception — properly documented
Every teacher signs a Data Processing Agreement that establishes Wipeboard Education as a school official under FERPA. Student education records are used solely for the educational function — nothing else.
Built with the 2026 COPPA rule in mind
We collect only what is necessary for the classroom function. For students under 13, the teacher confirms school authorization and parent notice for each class. Each student record is given a deletion date at the end of the school year. A nightly job deletes student records past their deletion date and records each deletion in the audit log.
Student names and data never reach AI providers
AI features are available to teachers only, using generic educational context — subject, grade level, learning objectives. No student-identifiable information is ever sent to any AI provider.
Encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
All traffic to Wipeboard uses HTTPS. Access is role-based — teachers see their school, students see their class, parents see only their child. No cross-school data access under any circumstances.
